Terms of Service

By creating an account or using CheqPls, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

CheqPls is a personal expense tracking tool. It helps you record spending, scan receipts, split bills, and track potential LHDN tax relief categories. That's it.

• Not a tax advisor. Tax relief tracking is based on spending category estimates. These are not verified tax claims. Always consult a qualified tax professional or verify with LHDN when filing your taxes.
• Not a financial advisor. The app shows you where your money went. It does not provide financial advice, investment guidance, or budgeting recommendations.
• Not an accounting tool. CheqPls is for personal use. It is not designed for business accounting, invoicing, or regulatory compliance.

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
• You must not share your account with others
• During closed testing, an access code is required for sign-up
• You can delete your account at any time from Settings — this permanently removes all your data

• You own your data. Receipt images, spending records, and profile information belong to you.
• You grant CheqPls permission to process your data to provide the service (scanning receipts, generating charts, etc.)
• You can export your data as CSV and delete your account at any time

Don't use CheqPls to:

• Upload illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content
• Attempt to access other users' data
• Abuse the OCR scanning system (rate limited to 30 scans/day)
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attack the service
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent limits

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

CheqPls uses AI (Claude by Anthropic) to read receipt images. This process is not perfect:

• OCR accuracy depends on image quality, receipt format, and text clarity
• The AI may misread amounts, dates, merchant names, or categories
• Always verify scanned data before saving — you can edit all fields
• CheqPls is not liable for errors in AI-extracted data

CheqPls flags purchases that may qualify for LHDN tax relief based on spending categories. These are estimates only.

• CheqPls does not verify whether a specific purchase actually qualifies for tax relief
• Eligibility depends on LHDN rules, receipt documentation, and your personal tax situation
• Tax relief caps and categories may change — CheqPls may not reflect the latest LHDN guidelines immediately
• Always verify your claims with a qualified tax professional or directly with LHDN
• CheqPls is not liable for incorrect tax claims made based on the app's categorisation

• CheqPls is provided "as is" without warranty
• We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
• Features may change, be added, or be removed
• The free tier may have usage limits (currently 30 scans/day)

To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, CheqPls and its developer are not liable for:

• Loss of data (though we take reasonable precautions to prevent it)
• Incorrect tax claims or financial decisions made based on the app's data
• Service interruptions or downtime
• Errors in AI-generated receipt data
• Any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages

We may update these terms. Changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
